A little bit about us

SINCE 1994

How it began

Holloway opened its doors in 1994 with 40 low-care hostel beds. Holloway was named after Mrs Sarah Holloway, who as an active member of Social Services Department  of Churches of Christ, was a regular visitor to numerous aged care facilities in the region . Born in Harrietville in the North East of Victoria in 1895, Mrs Holloway continued her activities in the community until 1987, when she passed away at the age of 92.

Located in a quiet cul-de-sac just off Milleara Road in East Keilor, Holloway House prides itself on its rich history of providing personalised care for residents and support for families.

Having built a reputation for high levels of care and increasing demand for Holloway, in 2005 a thirty bed unit was added along with a separate ten bed unit, taking the total number of beds to 70. With this growth and the organisations focus on quality, came the addition of a highly skilled workforce, consisting of registered nurses and enrolled nurses across all shifts.

This was also the catalyst to rebrand the organisation to better reflect the changing needs of the community, when Holloway became known as Holloway Aged Care Services. The proprietor is Keilor Hostel for the Aged Association Inc., a progressive community based ‘Not-for-Profit’.

Holloway offers a safe and comfortable environment that fosters independence, respect, dignity and choice.
